Reducing Costs Whilst Maintaining Precision for the Competitive Market of Laser Welding Applications
PI's new series of L-812 ball screw stages has enabled a machine manufacturer of laser welding applications to secure its position as market leader for the hermetic sealing of packages.
This process is essential in many industries, especially, semiconductor, electronics, and telecommunications. Here, it is crucial to precisely weld the smallest features and paths to housings to ensure the functionality and protection of delicate devices.
As the machine setup and actual laser process do not require the stages to be sealed, PI proposed the new L-812 ball screw stages as a lower-cost alternative to the L-412 stages previously used.
The combination of lower price and fast delivery was very attractive to our customer and, ultimately, enabled them to become more competitive in the eyes of the end user.
