Official Opening of New PI Headquarters and Celebration of Dr. Karl Spanner's 45th Anniversary
Last week, Markus Spanner invited guests to the official opening of the new PI headquarters and the celebration of his father, Dr. Karl Spanner's 45 years of service for the company. Approx. 70 guests accepted the invitation to visit the newly purchased building in Rudolf-Link-Straße 3, including PI shareholders, the Executive Board, guests from politics represented by Dr. Frank Mentrup, mayor of Karlsruhe, Alfons Gartner, local representative for Stupferich, and Kerstin Tron, local representative for Wettersbach, as well as guests invited from industry, and long-term companions of Dr. Karl Spanner.
In his opening speech, Markus Spanner mentioned that the C-Level and corporate functions have already moved to the new office building.
By purchasing and moving to the new building, we can very quickly create additional space for the urgently needed capacity expansion at the production site in Karlsruhe.
This also means the continuing recruitment of staff – in Karlsruhe and globally. In 2021, the number of employees grew by a total of 170 employees, and, for the current year, a further 240 new jobs are planned, with a large part of these based in Karlsruhe.
Karlsruhe has a living culture of innovation, and PI is making an excellent contribution towards this. I really enjoy observing the strength of innovation and dynamic growth of PI in the global high-tech markets, and am actively supporting this.
Dr. Karl Spanner Celebrates 45th Anniversary at PI
Within the context of the opening ceremony, celebrations were also held for the 45th anniversary of Dr. Karl Spanner, founder of the PI Group. With his creativity, he has established the basis for the growth and success of PI, emphasized keynote speaker Brian Lula, former President of PI USA. Even since his withdrawal from active management and the transfer of the CEO position to his son, Markus Spanner, Dr. Spanner continues to guide the PI Group as a highly respected provider of ideas and mentor.
The official program was rounded off with a vernissage 'Music Meets Painting' with the artist Joachim Czichon. Accompanied by live music, he painted a picture in front of the guests, which can now be viewed in the foyer of the new PI headquarters.
