GRP in Exchange With Scientists From Leibniz Institute
Common points of contact identified in the close exchange with the scientific community are increasingly attracting the attention of technical universities, colleges and research institutes to PI as an employer.
On June 22, 2023, twenty employees from the Leibniz-Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe, which translates to “Leibniz Insititute for Composite Materials”, visited PI in Karlsruhe. The beginnings of this cooperation go back several years. At that time, the private lecturer, Dr. rer. nat. habil. Martin Gurka, and Dr. Steffen Schreiber, Director Advance Development - Global, mutually supervised the final dissertation of our colleague Philipp Argus, Engineer Development Engineering.
At the start of the visit, Stefan Louis, Engineer Inside Sales - DACH, and Dr Alexander Klumpp, Engineer Technical Sales - DACH, gave the guests in the auditorium a brief overview of PI's markets and products. Subsequently, Dr Steffen Schreiber, Director Advance Development - Global, and Dr Christian Sander, Head of Technology Development - Parallel Kinematics, introduced the technologies being researched in PI's Global Research & Platforms (GRP) division to the group. As an example, Philipp Argus took a closer look at a research project with partners from industry and science, and used it to show how successful collaboration with science can look. Miriam Clauss, Manager Production Management - Piezo Systems DPG, also gave the group a tour of the production facilities.
This tour and the subsequent discussions in the showroom clearly demonstrated the many points of contact between the Leibnitz Institute and PI's GRP division, and, therefore, there are plans to continue this dialog in the near future.
Many thanks to Sarah Hurst, HR - Administration, for her assistance in organizing this event.
