Expansion of Electronics Manufacturing in Rosenheim
Within the context of our growth strategy, we celebrated on November 7th, 2024, the successful completion of the work to expand and restructure our electronics production in Rosenheim, Germany. In the presence of Rosenheim’s Lord Mayor Andreas März, our CEO Markus Spanner, SVP Operations Dr. Axel Widenhorn, and the location manager Markus Unterharrer explained the significance of the 2.2 million euro investment for PI and the site. The objectives of the expansion include using the additional space and improvements in workstation design and materials flow to increase productivity, thus creating the conditions vital to the growth we intend to achieve and to a successful positioning in the international marketplace.
To this end, some one million euros were invested in the infrastructure and the expansion of the floorspace by 600 m² to the present 2,100 m². In addition to optimized logistics, additional workspaces, and new production equipment, a special emphasis was placed on improving ergonomics. With these measures, PI is further improving the general conditions for the employees. Height-adjustable workbenches with integrated lighting in the production area as well as optimized air-conditioning and ventilation are a few examples of this.
Markus Spanner congratulated location manager Markus Unterharrer on successful completion of the expansion:

In his opening address, Rosenheim’s Lord Mayor Andreas März expressed his gratitude for PI’s commitment to the Rosenheim site demonstrated in making the investment. He congratulated PI’s corporate management and shareholders on their entrepreneurial courage. März promised that he would do everything in his power to enhance the business environment in Rosenheim to ensure that there are no obstacles to commercial success. To sum up, Andreas März was impressed with what he saw: “PI in Rosenheim, that is a true promotion for Rosenheim as a business hub.”
The coming year will see the Rosenheim site entering the next stage of expansion.
