On June 16 and 17, Global Research hosted the PI Symposium on Mechatronics System Design, bringing together around 95 international participants. With more than 30 contributions in the form of presentations, posters, and workshops from multiple locations, the event provided a valuable platform for internal exchange while also fostering dialogue between industry and academia: Dr. Ludwig Herzog from IMMS (Institut für Mikroelektronik- und Mechatronik-Systeme gemeinnützige GmbH, Germany) presented error budgeting and compensation approaches in long-range nanopositioning systems. Dr. Florian Poltschak from the Hoerbiger Research Institute for Smart Actuators at Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria) shared strategies to manage attractive forces and wear in linear motors. Further contributions and insights were provided by guest speakers from Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (Austria) and Delft University of Technology (Netherlands).
A summary of the presentations will be published shortly.
