DACH Sales & Project Management Say Thank You to Everyone Involved in Major Order Completion

Dear Colleagues,

at the end of November, a final delivery completed a longstanding PI customer's cross-site large order. Therefore, the three locations Rosenheim, Eschbach and Karlsruhe delivered individual components with controllers, which the customer integrated into their systems.

The following summarizes the order:

Total order volume of EUR 4.5 million
Duration of total project execution from creating the offer to the last delivery < ten months
Karlsruhe delivered around 70 slightly modified H-811.I2 hexapods.
Rosenheim delivered around 80 x C-887 hexapod controllers, and 15 fully-equipped C-885 PIMotion Master. A total of 250 plug-in cards were installed.
Eschbach delivered 150 x L-509 axes, 65 x L-511 axes, and 175 xM-232 actuators. The grease used was the only difference between these components and standard items. This was necessary as the customer wants to use the axes in a cleanroom. Additionally, Eschbach started up all of the axes for the C-885 controllers.
A total of more than 250 individual cables with a total length of more than 6 km were sold.

We are impressed by the dedication, reliability and self-sufficiency of the departments Purchasing, Production, Shipping , Order Processing and Sales in all three locations Rosenheim, Karlsruhe and Eschbach! The teams had to deal with massive restrictions and challenges:

Late modification requests from the customer;
Major personnel shortages and absences;
Capacity bottlenecks due to parallel large orders;
Significant and partially sudden delays in receiving materials; e.g. in the area of electronics: Three days before the material was received, a cyber attack caused a supplier to break down completely. However, despite the currently challenging market situation, the team managed to quickly switch to an alternative supplier. Moreover, there were multiple factory closures due to Covid-19 at key suppliers in Malaysia;
Production stop of the Value Stream Hexapods after the supplier changed the process.

However, we still managed to successfully complete the order - this kind of teamwork is great! With this joint superhuman show of strength, we were able to help our customer, and prove them that PI is a reliable partner for large-scale orders.
