Eberhardt Hennig Receives Buessem Award of the Center for Dielectrics and Piezoelectrics
Eberhard Hennig who after nearly 25 years of successful work for PI Ceramic retired in 2019 and, in his last position, was Head of Central Development, has received the Buessem Award of the Center for Dielectrics and Piezoelectrics (CDP) thanks to his numerous performances in the development of piezoceramic materials and components
This price was awarded by the CDP for the first time in 1989 to Wilhelm R. Buessem for his excellent contributions in the field of dielectric materials.
Back then, Eberhardt Hennig made the 34th place amongst the winners. Here is a notable list of previous winners:
- Harold W. Stetson, the inventor of cofiring
- Karl Heinz Härdtl, a well-known German professor in functional materials
- Kenji Uchino, a living legend of the piezo world
The CDP is a consortium of 26 global partners led by the National Science Foundation; universities and companies from the areas of dielectrics and piezoelectrics are part of it. The goal is to jointly steer the research from the participating universities and therefore solve relevant problems for the industry.
The actual award ceremony was planned for the annual autumn meeting of the CPD at the Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be postponed to spring 2023 in Germany.
We are happy about this honor for Eberhardt Hennig and would like to congratulate him warmly!
