Global Corporate Functions Move to Newly Purchased Administration Building; 1,000 Square Meters of Additional Production Area Created at PI Headquarters

Today, I would like to tell you all about some positive changes at headquarters in Karlsruhe:
PI has purchased the CML Global Solutions building in 'Rudolf-Link-Straße', which is very close to headquarters. In future, global corporate functions will be located here. The area of approx. 1,000 square meters that will become available at headquarters will be converted into additional production space, as well as office space for the Support Functions.
Our shareholders' fast and (pro) active agreement to purchasing the new building supports the implementation of the 'Maximum On-Time Delivery Initiative'. With this initiative, we promised our customers to expand capacities in all plants to significantly improve our ability to deliver on-time.
Purchasing this building enables PI to implement the initiative faster than planned in Karlsruhe. Constructing a new building with the corresponding approval procedures and time necessary for planning and building would have taken several years. With this solution, PI rapidly gains approx. 1,000 square meters of production area.
What Kind of a Building has PI Bought?
The building is within visible distance of the PI production site. Finished almost 2.5 years ago, it was hardly used during the pandemic and is therefore like new.
Furthermore, the building fulfills the latest standards; with flexible coworking spaces and plenty of space for retreating to.
What will Happen to the Facilities and Buildings Around Headquarters?
We are investing in our future and will create an additional 1,000 square meters of production area. In the newly created space, we will bring together teams that, at headquarters, often sit apart, as well as uniting the value streams and support functions within the same building.
Functions related to production will remain at headquarters, as the short distances involved help to simplify coordination.
Beyond the production areas, there will be further conversion measures taken care of by an internal team made up of employees from all divisions. For more information, see our next news.
What Is Planned for the New "Administrative Building"?
In the new administrative building, a visitors’ center, show-room, application laboratory, event area, and workplaces for internal and external visitors will be set up.
The official move is planned for the next few weeks. Thanks to the 'mobile working' regulations, it is possible to quickly prepare the conversion of office space to production space at headquarters.
