Innovation Search Fields Strengthen Focus on Relevant Subject Areas
At the beginning of July 2023, together with Segment and Product Marketing, the Global Research & Platforms division (GRP) developed innovation search fields as part of a workshop.
These innovation search fields will enable GRP to manage research activities more efficiently. This is a tool from innovation management.
The aim of this is to specify the framework for new innovation ideas and developments, as well as to prioritize these and therefore be able to focus more strongly on relevant subject areas. The search fields are the result of a matrix from the interfaces from market segments and PI competencies and cover a timeframe of three to ten years. As our area of business is changing constantly and rapidly, the innovation search fields must be reviewed regularly.
In particular, the current workshop considered the intersections of market segments, existing domain knowledge, and technology trends. In future workshops, also future scenarios and the results of the innovation and technology scoutings will be included (for more information, see the figure below):
In the next step, the innovation search fields discovered will be characterized further and synchronized with the GRP innovation roadmap.
