CEO trip focuses on expansion of intercultural cooperation and inauguration of Taiwan office
Global networking and intercultural cooperation are of immense importance to the PI Group and the group’s growth strategy. And this was precisely the focal point of the journey by Markus Spanner, the CEO of the PI Group, to PI’s sites in Asia. Over the course of his visits to Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore, he was able to obtain an impression of the progress made locally and get to know those people who are responsible for the implementation of the strategic objectives in each of these countries: during the visit to the production site in Changzhou, in the office and at the new technology hub in Singapore, when participating in individual business reviews, or when attending dinners with each of the teams. One particular highlight was the visit to PI Taiwan’s new office that was officially inaugurated by Markus Spanner in a traditional ceremony. Hsin Chia, Director of Sales APAC and Managing Director SEA:
PI Taiwan grew continually over the last few years. With the new office, we have found a place that meets PI’s standards and takes account of PI’s philosophy. These premises are set to also put us into a position to fully exploit the great growth potential.
In addition to an opportunity to discuss facts, figures, and background information, the trip provided profound insights into the local culture and business. During his visits to numerous customers, time and time again, Markus Spanner was given a clear demonstration of how important it is for PI to continue its transformation from a company with international operations to a genuine global player that acts regionally and thinks globally.
At the end of his trip, Markus Spanner emphasized: “The positive feedback from and the great motivation on the part of colleagues and customers at the places I visited made it clear to me once again that, specifically in Asia, we are able to grow more quickly and more strongly, and will have to do so to keep up here. For our success in Asia, it is of elementary importance for us to become much more agile than we have been. We must take the situation seriously as the competition is clearly winning market shares from us. We must prevent this from happening by placing a much greater focus on Asia than in the past.”
Hsin Chia was especially pleased about the successful trip to Asia:
My teams worked very intensely on the preparations for the meetings and, in this context, appreciated the respect shown them by our CEO. Such an intense exchange of information and ideas, also at the dinner events in the evenings, was unbelievably motivating for us.
