Minister of State and Head of the State Chancellery of Baden-Wuerttemberg Visits PI in Karlsruhe
At the end of his visit to PI in Karlsruhe on July 19, 2023, Dr. Florian Stegmann, Minister of State and Head of the State Chancellery of Baden-Wuerttemberg, emphasized that experiencing products and technologies up close is quite different from getting to know a company from videos. He was deeply impressed by what he saw.
After the general presentation of PI as a company by Markus Spanner, Chief Executive Officer, and a guided tour through the showroom with explanations of the exhibits by Doris Knauer, Team Leader Edition and Content Marketing, the program included a tour of the robotic welding system for tip/tilt mirrors led by Dr. Benedikt Prunsche, Project Management, and visits to the Value Streams Piezo Motors and Piezo Systems, led by Jürgen Stippinger, Manager Production Piezo Systems - DPG, and Ralf Lösbrock, Deputy to Manager Production.
Here, we were able to impressively highlight the potential of these technologies. Another highlight of the program was a short tour through the laboratories of the Global Research & Platforms division, where Rudolf Krüger, Technology Engineer, Arne Bramigk, Engineer Product Development and Dr. Christian Sander, Head of Technology Development - Parallel Kinematics, explained magnetic levitation, the tip/tilt mirror for the Solar Orbiter spacecraft and ALMA telescope hexapods to Dr. Stegmann. This was completely new territory for the qualified lawyer.
A big thank you to all the colleagues who contributed to the success of this visit. It was a special experience to see our guests amazed by one highlight after another.
Finally, to improve networking, Dr. Stegmann specifically recommended interesting contacts from the economy and trade associations. The visit helped to further strengthen contacts between the state government and PI.
