In April 2023, PI France and PI Ceramic took part in the 22nd International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU) in Lyon, France. During the hybrid event, there was a wide range of scientific lectures and programs and more than 500 international participants were expected. Experts in the field of therapeutic ultrasound spoke about current issues and challenges in scientific and clinical applications, such as:

•    Cancer tumors (histotripsy, thermal ultrasound therapy)
•    Parkinson's disease (neuromodulation)
•    Epilepsy (neuromodulation)
•    Cysts (histotripsy, thermal ultrasound therapy)

Timo Scholehwar, Senior Engineer Design Engineering, and Markus Stephan, Development Engineering, supported the team at the stand and presented the product variety of PI Ceramic together with Stephane Sage, Engineer Field Sales.

The symposium was an excellent opportunity to meet important key players from science and industry, and to showcase the capabilities of PI Ceramic in the manufacturing of advanced and miniaturized components, and, in general, in the development of ultrasonic transducers, especially for therapeutic ultrasound applications.

Following the ISTU EUFUS 2023, the 2nd HIFUture symposium took place. The symposium's program included presentations in various disciplines, mainly by practicing physicians and research professors.

Many thanks to all involved for their support!
