PI Makes Great Impression on Winfried Kretschman, Minister President of Baden-Wuerttemberg
On Friday, January 20, 2023, Winfried Kretschmann, Minister President of Baden-Wuerttemberg, visited PI in Karlsruhe.
He personally wanted to get an impression of our rapidly-growing company, and, in particular, get to know the people and technologies behind PI.
Our Chief Executive Officer, Markus Spanner and Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Markus Czanta were responsible for accompanying the Minister President on his visit, and introduced him to the world and technologies of PI with some anecdotes and insights.
The focus was to visit the two Value Streams Hexapods and Piezo Systems & Motors, and the Technology Center. Ralf Fütterer, Head of Value Stream Hexapods – DPG, presented the Value Stream Hexapods, and Jürgen Stippinger, Manager Production Piezo Systems – DPG, presented the Value Stream Piezo Motors & Systems.
Winfried Kretschmann was extremely impressed by our products and their outstanding importance for many hightech industries. The Minister President was particularly interested in the presentation of various innovations in the Technology Center, presented by Dr. Christian Rudolf, Director Technology Center – Parallel Kinematics and Magnetic Drives & Systems – Global. He promised that the state government will intensify their contact to PI and, if possible, support us.
Following the visit, numerous PI employees met with Markus Spanner und Dr. Markus Czanta in the bistro to gain some first-hand impressions of the visit.
I am very impressed to see a medium-sized company from Baden-Wuerttemberg as a key supplier to the global hightech industry. In the fields of digitalization, health, or space technology, PI is bang up to date on the latest mega trends in society and technology. We can count ourselves lucky to have such an innovative company here in our state which, considering the current crises, is actually growing and creating new, future-proof jobs. The business location Baden-Wuerttemberg needs medium-sized businesses and drivers of innovation like PI in order to remain competitive and also play a leading role in the future.
A great thanks goes to all of the colleagues who contributed to this successful visit. For the first time, we have attracted the attention of the state government, and this could open many doors for us in the future. Winfried Kretschmann was enthusiastic about the people at PI and their dedication to their work.
