Dear Colleagues,

At the start of July, PI participated in the 'Karrieretag Familienunternehmen' (Career Day for Family Businesses), the recruiting and contact trade fair for Germany's leading family businesses. Since 2006, the trade fair has been taking place at varying hosting family businesses, and this year, was hosted by the company Würth Group in Künzelsau. Amongst a total of 50 world market leaders and hidden champions were dm, Intersport, Festo, Kärcher, Trumpf or Lidl and Kaufland.

This event is targeted at specialists and executive staff from all sectors, particularly engineering and science. The event's format is characterized by the exchange of information, prior to the event, between exhibitors and candidates. The companies represented make fact sheets available to candidates before the trade fair, and candidates submit their CVs in advance so that exhibitors can target the candidates they want to invite to interviews on the day of the trade fair. Furthermore, only qualified candidates are allowed to attend.

In agreement with the specialist departments, we selected interesting candidates in advance and carried out 20 interviews. Additionally, we talked to more than 40 candidates at our booth, where we met several interesting candidates who we will subsequently invite to further talks at PI.

We had two exciting days of events. On the evening prior to the event, there was an employer lounge with networking events and get togethers. The welcoming speeches were held by Reinhold Würth (Prof. Dr. h. c. mult.), chairperson of the Würth Group foundation’s board of directors , Robert Friedmann, corporate management speaker of the Würth Group, and Stefan Klemm, owner of the entrepreneurs’ club. On the day of the event, exhibitors and candidates could find out more about the exhibiting companies from company presentations. We were pleased that Markus Spanner represented us in the employer lounge and held PI's company presentation.

As a medium-sized family business, we are convinced by the event’s format, as, for PI, the targeted and personal contact with interested applicants is an important part of the recruiting process. Due to PI’s massive growth, currently, we have created and need to fill more than 100 job vacancies. The career day provides us with the ideal platform to engage directly with committed and motivated talents.
