PI USA Successfully Attends Semicon West Event in San Francisco

At SEMICON West 2023 in San Francisco, CA, PI USA presented a number of innovative advancements in automation, nanopositioning, and motion control technologies. The event took place from July 11 – 13, 2023 and focused on the key challenges affecting the global microelectronics industry.

The PI USA team successfully demonstrated the technological leadership of PI with a comprehensive range of solutions for numerous aspects of semiconductor manufacturing and testing processes, encompassing laser beam delivery and surface metrology. The multi-axis wafer stages were of particular interest and included a 5-axis air-bearing stage, as well as a novel granite-based wafer substrate inspection stage, both operating with advanced ACS control algorithms. A further highlight was the Maglev technology demonstrator that showcased the supremacy of PI in innovation and unconventional thinking.

All-in-all the leads were of a high quality and the quantity of eighty represented a thirty percent increase compared to 2022. This is a positive outcome, given the current slump in the semiconductor industry. Visitors showed a healthy interest in our new technologies, and current forecasts indicate that the industry is set to recover in the new year. Who knows, these results might even be early signs of this recovery.
