The 2022 Intelligent Manufacturing & China Motion Control / Direct Drive Industry Development Summit and Award Ceremony took place in Shenzhen, China in December 2022.
At the ceremony, PI's motion solution for the laser drilling of high-density micro holes won the "CMCD 2022 Innovative Product in Motion Control" award. Sparlu Lu, Manager Key Account and Sales – South China, accepted the award on behalf of PI.
PI’s application-specific demonstrator for the laser drilling of high-density micro holes helps to address the challenges faced by laser drilling. These challenges include controlling the shape of the taper from entry to exit in order to achieve a high aspect ratio, as well as incorporating the use of piezo technology that offers higher levels of accuracy for producing challenging hole shapes and achieving small pitches.
