After supplier audits only taking place digitally over the past two years, we are pleased that we can finally visit our suppliers again and conduct audits on-site.

From a total of 15 planned supplier audits this year, the first eight have already taken place. Two of them will be held by the local Supplier Quality Engineer Team in Singapore under the coordination of the global Supplier Quality Management (SQM) team. The remaining supplier audits are planned within Europe.

The reasons for conducting supplier audits are to qualify new suppliers, to audit processes because of quality issues and to conduct routine audits at suppliers or strategic partners with critical manufacturing processes. With the help of the supplier audits, it is possible to identify strengths and weaknesses across the complete supply chain; from procurement of raw materials to delivery to PI. This way any potential for optimization can be identified together with the suppliers which increases and ensures the quality.

Global SQM plans the supplier audits for the local units and for this purpose works together closely with divisions such as Quality Assurance or System Engineering.

Thanks to the teams involved for their collaboration and commitment regarding the audits!
